Construction Accountant


Job Description

The Construction Accountant is responsible for overseeing the financial operations related to construction projects, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with industry regulations. This role involves collaborating with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to manage project costs and financial forecasting.


Key Responsibilities:


• Prepare and analyze financial statements, project budgets, and cash flow forecasts specific to construction projects.

• Monitor project costs, track expenses, and ensure adherence to budgets. Identify variances and recommend corrective actions.


• Manage invoicing processes, including preparation and submission of progress billings, and ensure timely collections from clients.


• Maintain detailed job costing records and allocate costs to various projects accurately.


• Review contracts and subcontract agreements to ensure financial compliance and accurate reporting.


• Oversee payroll for construction staff, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.


• Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary financial documentation and reports.


• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to financial reporting and construction practices.


• Conduct regular financial analyses to support decision-making and strategic planning for future projects.


• Prepare and entry all the data in software and keep proper record and submit monthly report to the reporting manager


Qualifications: Only Omani National (Urgent)


• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.


• Proven experience in accounting within the construction industry, including knowledge of job costing and contract accounting, Familiarity with accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks MS Office) and Microsoft Excel, Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.


Working Location:


• Its based in Muscat OR based at our location (Sohar) will be decided during Interview


• Minimum 5 years as accountant.________________________________________

Salary and package


• Between 600 to 700/-OMR full packages, rest all according to Oman Labour Law
