Job description

We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team in Muscat. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting knowledge, hands-on experience in financial reporting, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Eligibility Candidates must currently be residing in Oman and be available to attend in-person interviews in Muscat. Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Part-qualified CA or ACCA will be considered a strong advantage. Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience in a reputable or large organization. Experience with ERP/accounting software is required; knowledge of Odoo ERP will be an added advantage. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure timely posting of financial transactions. Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end closing activities. Perform bank, customer, and supplier reconciliations. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. Prepare financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring. Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and local regulations. Support internal and external audits by preparing the required documentation. Maintain fixed asset registers and monitor depreciation. Assist in VAT-related documentation and statutory reporting where applicable. Coordinate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls. Required Skills Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Good written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Odoo ERP. Knowledge of IFRS and financial controls. Experience in budgeting and management reporting. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query, etc.) will be an added advantage.
