Construction Equipment Sales & Business Development Manager

Location: Muscat

Industry: Construction Equipment / Heavy Machinery / Industrial Equipment Distribution

Job Purpose

The Construction Equipment Sales & Business Development Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, market expansion, and strategic business development for the construction equipment division in Oman. The role combines direct sales leadership with commercial strategy, key account management, project acquisition, and development of long-term customer relationships across construction, infrastructure, industrial, oil & gas, mining, and government sectors.

The position is accountable for achieving revenue and profitability targets while strengthening the company’s market presence and supporting OEM growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Equipment Sales Management

  • Achieve annual sales and gross profit targets for:
  • Develop and execute sales plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage retail, fleet, rental, project, and government sales opportunities.
  • Monitor sales pipeline and ensure effective lead conversion.
  • Support pricing strategy and commercial negotiations.

2. Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across
  • Expand market share and customer penetration within Oman.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with contractors, rental companies, and project developers.
  • Identify opportunities for new products, services, and market segments.

3. Key Account & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, Fleet operators, Government authorities, Industrial clients
  • Conduct customer visits, site inspections, and equipment demonstrations.
  • Develop long-term account plans for major customers.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.

4. Tender & Project Sales

  • Identify and track upcoming construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Lead participation in RFQs, tenders, and project bids.
  • Coordinate preparation of commercial and technical proposals.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, payment terms, and service agreements.

5. OEM & Supplier Coordination

  • Maintain strong relationships with equipment manufacturers and principals.
  • Ensure compliance with OEM sales standards and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate product launches, training, and promotional campaigns.
  • Support achievement of OEM sales and market share targets.

6. Team Leadership & Commercial Management

  • Lead and develop the sales and business development team.
  • Set sales KPIs, targets, and performance objectives.
  • Coach and mentor sales staff to improve productivity and customer engagement.
  • Monitor CRM discipline and sales reporting accuracy.

7. Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Analyze competitor activities, pricing, and market trends.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, business pipeline reports, and market intelligence updates.
  • Provide management with strategic recommendations for growth and profitability improvement.

Qualifications

Education

  • ENGINEERING Degree / Diploma with MBA

Experience

  • 8–15 years of experience in Construction equipment sales, Heavy machinery business development, Industrial or project sales, Equipment distribution
  • Minimum 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong Oman or GCC market exposure preferred.

Experience with international OEM brands is highly desirable.
