Accountant Job Duties & Responsibilities

1. Financial Record Keeping

Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions. 

Post journal entries and update ledgers. 

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts. 

Monitor and report variances between actual and budgeted figures. 

3. Accounts Payable & Receivable

Manage invoices, receipts, and payments. 

Reconcile customer and supplier accounts. 

4. Payroll Processing

Prepare and process employee payroll. 

Ensure compliance with tax and labor laws. 

5. Bank Reconciliation

Reconcile bank statements with company accounts. 

Investigate and resolve discrepancies. 

6. Taxation & Compliance

Prepare and file VAT, income tax, and other statutory returns. 

Ensure compliance with local regulations and accounting standards. 

7. Financial Reporting

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. 

Provide management with reports for decision-making. 

8. Internal Controls & Auditing

Implement and maintain internal financial controls. 

Support external and internal audit processes. 

9. Cost Control & Analysis

Analyze expenses and suggest cost-saving measures. 

Track profitability of projects and departments

10. General Support

Assist management in financial planning and strategy. 

Provide financial advice to improve company performance.
