Responsible for accurately processing payments, maintaining cash registers, and providing assistance to customers regarding billing and payment-related inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cash Handling: Receive and process cash, checks, and credit or debit card payments from customers accurately and efficiently.
2. Cash Register Management: Operate cash registers, and other equipment to process transactions and maintain accurate records of sales and transactions.
3. Transaction Verification: Verify the authenticity of payment methods, such as checking identification for credit card transactions, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
4. Financial Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including sales reports, receipts, and transaction logs, and reconcile cash registers at the end of each shift.
5. Cash Handling Policies: Adhere to cash handling policies and procedures, including maintaining the confidentiality and security of financial transactions and ensuring proper storage of cash and valuables.
6. Sales Support: Assist the sales team by generating invoices, and ensuring accurate billing.
7. Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement, suggest innovative ideas to enhance operational efficiency, and actively participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or equivalent
- Proven experience as a cashier or in a similar customer-facing role.
- Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in operating cash registers and other relevant equipment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and work well under pressure.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and cash handling procedures.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the company.
